
Luis Azevedo

Luis Azevedo is a seasoned resource industry professional with over 30 years of international experience and deep expertise in the Brazilian Mining Code. He holds a BSc in Geology from Rio de Janeiro State University, a Law Degree from Candido Mendes University, and a postgraduate degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro.
As President and CEO of Bravo Mining, he leverages his technical and legal acumen to drive strategic growth while also founding FFA Legal Ltda—a Rio de Janeiro firm that supports natural resource companies with licensing, rights management, and administrative services.
Early in his career, he worked with Western Mining Corp., Barrick Gold Corp., and Harsco Corp., building a strong track record of transforming projects into successful mine operations. He has held leadership roles at several companies, including ASX-listed Avanco Resources (acquired by Oz Minerals at a 120% premium in 2018), TSX-listed Rio Verde Minerals Development Corp., and TSX-listed Talon Metals Corp., and he currently serves on the boards of TSX/LSE-listed Serabi Gold PLC, AIM-listed Harvest Minerals Ltd, and AIM-listed Jangada Mines PLC. In 2007, he co-founded Avanco Resources Ltd and was pivotal in developing Brazil’s only new copper mine in the Carajás Mineral Province not owned by VALE S.A.
An active advocate for the Brazilian mining sector, he founded and leads the Brazilian Mining Prospectors Association (ABPM) and was named Vice President of the Mining Council of the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in 2019. Recognized as National Explorer of the Year in 2017 and one of Brazil’s top three miners by the Global Mining Observer in 2019, Azevedo continues to shape the industry as a Brazilian national fluent in English and Spanish.
